Dan Cardillo explains that no one wants to eliminate Wakefield’s 2 leagues and one practice but to allow kids who have left WYSA the opportunity to play on a team and only play in one of the leagues. Another idea could be to have a separate team that play’s just one game a week and has no practices. Steve Collella tells the board that WYSA is not here to supplement select players, we are here for the Wakefield players who want to play in Wakefield and none of the monies collected if fees or fundraising should go to supplement the players who have chosen to leave WYSA and play elsewhere. Kevin Robbins says we wants his son having the same team for both leagues not two different teams and players need to make a choice, do they want to skate for Wakefield or not. Tom Melsanson says he agrees with Rocco Scippa and Steve Collella. What we need to do is improve the product we have here: skills, practices and coaches. Billy Mackay explains that a couple of years ago the Bantam A team played one league only and it didn’t work out, it was awful. Jack Losco explains he sent out an e-mail suggesting talking about the possibilities of allowing some of the players who left the bantam A team to play in one league only. He felt with the low numbers in bantams this was idea worth talking about. Because of the feedback from the members in attendance Jack withdrew his suggestion. |
